And they have conquered him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, for they loved not their lives even unto death. (Revelation 12:11 ESV)

From hopeless to holy!

Jim Brown shares...

My name is Jim. I came to Church on the Street with a similar background as anyone else here; prisons, hospitals, recovery homes and treatment facilities. After being released from prison I was found sitting on the grass our in front of the Prescott court house by a senior disciple from Church on the Street. He asked me what I was doing so I told him the truth, "I've just been released from jail and I have no where to go and nothing to do; no family or friends to listen to me cry wolf anymore either."

That's when he told me about Church on the Street: a place where guys like me could go and get a 'fresh start' by allowing Christ to change their lives. Once we got to the church I was told "welcome home!" and from that point on a seed of hope was planted within me. It was a real turning point in my life. I have been with Church on the Street for a while now and that seed that was planted that day has been growing ever since.

My life has changed along the way. No longer do I run from my past and the person that I once was because my testimony has the power to help someone else. The way that I think has gone from me being self-centered, to God being the center of my life. By doing so I have surrendered all of the old ways of dealing with life and the people in it over to the will of God. Through it all I have gained a better sense of self and a more positive outlook through Jesus Christ.
