And they have conquered him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, for they loved not their lives even unto death. (Revelation 12:11 ESV)
From hopeless to holy!
My name is Brian and I am the 3rd oldest in a family of 10 children. We grew up with an abusive father with no Christian influence what so ever. Being very much a loner, I began using drugs as a teen-ager. After getting married to a Christian woman who is the mother of my four chldren, I began drinking in my late 20's.
That's about the time everything began falling apart for me. I lost my marriage and family and as things continued to get worse and I became involved in the motorcycle gang life of violence, I served seven years in prison. Life was one long sentece of desperation for me.
I moved to Phoenix, tried rehabs, moved to Prescott; all the while still drinking and wanting to end my life.
One day, a man that I had never met and to this day don't even know his name, picked me up off the side of the road and brought me to Church on the Street's Fresh Start program. At our Tuesday night service, Pastor James Taylor prayed for me. As the Holy Spirit had His way, I laid on the floor in tears as I was freed from the amazing weight of hate that I had held onto for so long.
The next morning, the obsession that I had been struggling with had left me! My desires were being taken away because He was renewing me from withing. I am clean, sober and free today, thanks to Jesus Christ and what He is doing through the men at Church on the Street
